This work examines the role of “receipts” within contemporary digital culture, where screenshots, saved notes, and timelines function as systems of proof. While such materials are often used publicly to validate or expose, this project turns towards the private, focusing on fragments that remain unseen.

The content is drawn from a collection of personal and shared notes, including unsent messages, partial conversations, and emotional reflections. These texts are translated into a receipt format, where moments of intimacy are documented, itemised, and reconfigured.

The process began through 1:1 experiments with receipt formats, replacing transactional text with personal content. Newsprint paper was selected to replicate the visual and tactile qualities of everyday receipts, reinforcing familiarity while shifting meaning. The text is shaped, stored, and selectively revealed.

THE JOY COLLECTIVE

The Joy Collective is a participatory work developed through a shared dinner, where conversations around social justice are translated into marks, writings, and gestures on ceramic plates. The work explores how joy, care, and collective reflection can function as alternative modes of engaging with activism, shifting away from urgency and spectacle towards intimacy and connection.
